Ferrum's Brown Earns Rookie of the Week Honor

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College freshman defensive back Zack Brown (Tifton, Ga./Tifton County) has been named Defensive Rookie of the Week by the USA South Athletic Conference.

Brown had eight solo tackles, four assisted tackles, a pass breakup and an interception return for five yards against Maryville College Oct. 6 in Maryville, Tennessee.  The Panthers lost in overtime to the Scots, 26-23.

This is the second honor for Brown, who also earned Rookie of the Week Sept. 27 after helping Ferrum defeat Shenandoah University 44-21 Sept. 22 on the road.

Ferrum (3-3, 2-1 USA South) returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 13, at home against USA South opponent Methodist University during Homecoming Weekend.  Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at W.B. Adams Stadium.
