Men's Soccer Picks up 2-1 Win Over Southern Virginia
FERRUM, Va. -- Sophomore Jason Haynes had a goal and an assist as
Ferrum College defeated Southern Virginia University in
non-conference men's soccer action at home this afternoon.

Sevy Price got the Knights on the board first with a goal at the
24:22 mark. Ferrum struck right back with a goal by freshman
Justin Seekford at 25:43. Haynes assisted on the goal as the
Panthers knotted the score at 1-1 heading into halftime.
Haynes then scored the eventual game-winning goal at 54:24 off a
pass from junior Seth Hill. Senior GK Matt Parrish played all
90 minutes in his last career game at Ferrum, making three saves.
Jason Lowe made seven saves in net for Southern Virginia (4-10).
Ferrum (4-11-1) travels to Fayetteville, North Carolina, Oct. 30 to
face #3 seed Methodist University in the quarterfinals of the 2007
USA South Men's Soccer Tournament. Ferrum is the #6 seed.
The winner will face #2 Christopher Newport University Nov. 2 in
Rocky Mount, North Carolina, the site of top-seeded North Carolina
Wesleyan College.
