Ferrum Nips Shenandoah 1-0 in Women's Soccer

WINCHESTER, Va. -- Ferrum College picked up a 1-0 USA South women's soccer win this afternoon on the road over Shenandoah University.  The win was Ferrum's third straight.

Freshman Jessica Lively scored the lone goal for the Panthers off an assist from Leigha McKusker with 14 minutes remaining in the game.

Freshman GK Katie Hodkinson preserved the shutout, her fourth this season.  Through 17 matches, Hodkinson has a 1.82 goals-against average this season.

Ferrum improves to 6-9-2 with the win, 5-4 in the USA South.  Shenandoah falls to 5-12 with the loss, 3-6 in league play.  The Panthers will compete in the USA South Tournament this week, starting Tuesday, Oct. 30.
