Vann Named USA South Football Rookie of the Week

Mike Vann
(Woodbridge, Va./Potomac) has been named USA South Athletic
Conference Football Offensive Rookie of the
Week for the third time this season.
Vann
also
earned the honor September 27 and October 1.
Vann had 132 yards rushing and three touchdowns in Ferrum's
21-13 win over USA South opponent Methodist University Saturday,
Oct. 13, at home during Homecoming Weekend. Vann carried the
ball 12 times, averaging 11.0 yards per carry.
Also nominated for Football Offensive Rookie of the Week were Laqwan
Brodie of North Carolina Wesleyan College, Raphael Amey of
Shenandoah University, and Darnell Walker of Greensboro College.
Through seven games (of which he has played six), Vann
leads the USA South in rushing (95.3 yd/gm), scoring (11 pt/gm),
total offense (11.0 yd/play). Ferrum leads the league in
rushing offense (288.4 yd/gm).
Ferrum (4-3, 3-0 USA South) returns to action Saturday, Oct. 27, at
home against Greensboro College. Kickoff for the USA South
match-up is set for 1 p.m. at W.B. Adams Stadium on the Ferrum
campus.
