Panther Women Top Meredith 72-58
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Ferrum College defeated Meredith College this
afternoon in USA South Athletic Conference women's basketball,
winning 72-58 on the road.

Ferrum (6-6, 4-1 USA South) was led this afternoon by Miranda
Carrasco, who had 17 points on 7-10 shooting. It was the fifth
straight game in which the junior guard led or shared the scoring
load for the Panthers. Carrasco also had three steals, two
rebounds and an assist.
In yesterday's 62-58 loss to Methodist University on the road,
Carrasco had a career-high 27 points on 11-18 shooting from the
floor. She was 4-9 from behind the arc against the Monarchs,
and is the current team leader in three-point field goals this
season with 21.
Kierra Parker had 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists today.
Ali Davenport added 11 points and 10 rebounds, her 5th double-double
this season.
Meredith (5-8, 2-5 USA South) was led by Brittany Cornelius, Nicole
hall and Whitley Turner, who had 17, 15 and 12 points, respectively.
The Angels shot 43% from the floor. Ferrum led 36-26 at
halftime and out-rebounded Meredith 42-34.
The win was Ferrum's second this season over Meredith, including an
88-71 win at home Jan. 12.
Ferrum returns to action Jan. 22 at Greensboro College in a USA South doubleheader. The women tip of at 5:30
p.m., followed immediately by the men.
