Baker Named Interim Men's Soccer Coach at Ferrum

FERRUM, Va. - Director of Athletics Abe Naff has announced that Rod Baker has been named Interim Men's Soccer Coach at Ferrum College. 

A Ferrum graduate, Baker earned his bachelor's degree in art in May of 2003.  He  played soccer and tennis four years each at Ferrum, earning Academic All-Conference his senior year.

Baker has been involved with Olympic Development Program (ODP) in Virginia's Western District.  He has also worked numerous summer soccer camps at colleges in Virginia, including Virginia Tech, the College of William & Mary, and Hampden-Sydney College.

A native of Maumee, Ohio, Baker prepped at Maumee High School and is the son of Brenda and Rod Baker.  Baker begins his responsibilities immediately.

Baker succeeds John Faircloth, who resigned August 7 to pursue other opportunities.  Faircloth posted a 13-23 overall record in two years, including last season's 13-7 mark.  For more information, please contact the Ferrum College Sports Information Office at (540) 365-4306 or gholden@ferrum.edu.
