Named
Academic All-American®
FERRUM, Va. - Ferrum College senior
Wilson Paine
(Maryville, Tenn./Maryville) has been named to the 2007
ESPN The
Magazine Academic All-America® Men's At-Large
First Team for the College Division.
Paine is only the second student-athlete from Ferrum to earn
Academic All-America recognition. The first was Elizabeth
Adams, a tennis and soccer standout who earned Academic AA third
team honors in 2000.

Academic All-America®
program is sponsored by the College Sports Information Directors of
America. Paine became eligible for Academic AA honors when he
was named to the Academic All-District first team May 24th.
Paine was an All-Conference selection in the USA South Athletic
Conference this season, earning honorable mention.
He
earned USA South Player
of the Week honors April 3rd after having posted a 6-0 record in
singles and doubles the
previous week.
Paine posted a perfect 4.0 grade point average through his four
years at Ferrum. He has been accepted to Harvard University's
Divinity School, and is enrolled for the fall of 2007.
