Thomas Named to ABCA/Rawlings
All-Region 1st Team
Senior 3B Eligible for All-America
FERRUM, Va. - Ferrum College senior third baseman
Brett Thomas
(Danville, Va./George Washington) has been named to the 2007
American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Division III
All-South Region Team as a first team selection.
2007 ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region Team
Thomas batted .387 this season, starting all 45 of Ferrum's games.
In 186 at-bats, he produced 72 hits, 51 runs, 10 doubles, three
triples, 15 home runs and 65 RBI. Thomas closed out the season
with a .715 slugging percentage and a .470 on-base percentage.
Thomas was successful on 27 of 30 stolen base attempts and had a
.871 fielding percentage.
As first-team All-Region
selection, Thomas is now eligible for All-America honors. This
is Thomas' second All-Region honor, having been a first team
selection in 2005 as well.

Ferrum (28-17) closed out
the season last weekend at the 2007 NCAA Division III Baseball
Regional, held May 16-20 at Ferrum. It was the College's first
on-campus regional hosting opportunity. The Panthers battled
into an "if necessary" game with eventual champion Emory University,
losing the title game 6-5 in 12 innings May 20.
Thomas was one of 13 seniors that closed out spectacular careers
