Paine Named to Men's Tennis
All-Conference Team

FERRUM, Va. - Ferrum College senior Wilson Paine (Maryville, Tenn./Maryville) has been named to the USA South Athletic Conference Men's Tennis All-Conference team as an honorable mention.

Paine has played this season in the #2 singles spot and primarily at #2 doubles.  He is currently 7-12 in singles and 10-8 in doubles, with a 17-20 overall record.

This is Paine's first All-Conference award.  Paine was named Player of the Week April 3rd after having posted a perfect 6-0 record the previous week.

Paine holds two school records at Ferrum; singles win streak at 15 matches and season singles win percentage at .882 (15-3 record in 2006).  For his career, Paine is 48-26 in singles, 29-32 in doubles, and 77-58 overall.

Ferrum (5-15) plays in the USA South Tournament April 13-15 in Burlington, North Carolina. The Panthers are the #6 seed and face #3 Methodist University in the quarterfinal round April 13.  For more information, please contact the Ferrum College Sports Information Office at (540) 365-4306.
