Men's Tennis Beats Lynchburg 6-3

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Senior Wilson Paine (Maryville, Tenn./Maryville) and freshman Josh Sandlin (Richmond, Va./J.R. Tucker) picked up wins in both singles and doubles this afternoon to lead Ferrum College to a 6-3 win over Lynchburg College in non-conference men's tennis action.

Paine picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win over David O'Brien at #2 singles, then teamed with freshman Brian Cassidy (Purcellville, Va./Park View) for an 8-1 win over Kristian Richardson and Jay Duimstra at #2 doubles.

Sandlin defeated Andrew Oler 7-5, 7-5 at #6 singles, then teamed with junior Kevin Board (Rocky Mount, Va./Franklin County) for an-8-6 win over Oler and John Matthews at #3 doubles.

Sophomore Mike Sampson (Wirtz, Va./Franklin County) defeated Richardson 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 at #1 singles, and senior Stephen Brown (West Point, Va./West Point) beat Daniel Civis 6-7 (7-2) 6-4, 6-1 at #3 singles.
