Women's Lacrosse 2-1 Last
Week
FERRUM, Va. -- The
Ferrum College women's lacrosse team went 2-1 in three matches last
week. The Panthers opened play with a 15-11 loss to Sweet
Briar College at home March 20, then won a pair of matches on the
road, 19-3 over Trinity University (DC) March 23 and 13-11 over
Shenandoah University March 24.

In the Sweet Briar match, junior
Stephanie Perih (Centreville,
Va./Paul VI) had five goals, junior
Corinne Musanti (Staten Island,
N.Y./St. John's Villa) had three goals, and freshman
Katie Denney
(Charlottesville, Va./Covenant) had two goals.
Perih was Ferrum's leading scorer again in the win over Trinity,
netting five goals. Senior
Kerry Toomey (Arnold,
Md./Broadneck) had three goals. Musanti, Denney and junior
Lindy Williams (Sterling, Va./Paul VI) each added a pair of goals.
Perih then had six goals, including the game-winner, and an assist
in the win over Shenandoah. Toomey had three goals and senior
Carlyn Kubler (Union Hall, Va./Franklin County) had two goals.
For the week, Perih had 16 goals and an assist for 17 points.
Through Ferrum's first nine game, she has 36 goals and four assists
for 40 points. Perih is just eight goals from tying the single
season school record of 44, and four points from tying the single
season record of 44 points. Both records were set in 2003 by Carrie
Conques.
Ferrum (4-5, 1-4 USA South) returns to action March 27 at
non-conference opponent Bridgewater College. The Panthers then
travel to Averett University March 29 for their last USA South
Athletic Conference match of the regular season. Coach Karen
Harvey's team will then play at Hood College April 5, and against
Georgian Court University April 6 at Hood.
The 2007 USA South Tournament is set for April 13-14 in Burlington,
