Ferrum Men Defeat Lancaster Bible

FERRUM, Va.  --  Ferrum College picked up an 83-73 non-conference men's basketball win this afternoon over Lancaster Bible College.  The win evens Ferrum's record at 4-4 overall this season.

Senior guard Rob Fuller (Timberlake, N.C./Person) led all scorers with 19 points and had a game-high steals.  Junior forward Jon Godsey (Gladys, Va./William Campbell) added 17 points and led the Panthers rebounding effort with eight boards. 

Freshman guard Jerrell Wade (Ferrum, Va./Franklin County) had 15 points and four assists.  Junior center Cedric Jones (Lynchburg, Va./Gulf Coast CC) was Ferrum's fourth player in double-digit scoring, netting 12 points, and added seven rebounds.

Lancaster Bible (5-7) was led by Wid Lyman, who had 18 points, and Carl Edwards's 17 points.  Drew Karschner and Zack Long had 15 points and 14 points, respectively.

Following a break for final exams, Ferrum (4-4) will close out first semester action with a pair of games in New York December 19-20.  Coach Bill Tharp's squad will play at Elmira College Dec. 19 in Elmira, N.Y., then at SUNY Maritime Dec. 20 in Throggs Neck, N.Y.  For more information, please contact the Ferrum sports information office at (540) 365-4306.
