Bowyer, Silk Earn First Team All-State Honors in
Football
FERRUM, Va. --
Two Ferrum College players have been named to the Virginia Sports
Information Directors 2006 College Division All-State Football Team.
Senior tight end Chris Silk
(Ashland, Va./Patrick Henry) and senior offensive lineman
Pete Bowyer (Goode,
Va./Jefferson Forest) have each been named to the 2006 VaSID
All-State Football Team as first team selections.

Team
For Silk, it was his second All-State award, and his first as a
first-teamer. Last season, he made the VaSID second team.
Silk earned first team All-Conference in the USA South this year,
and was a third team All-South Region pick by D3football.com.
He caught 11 passes this year for 242 yards and four touchdowns,
averaging 22 yards per catch.
Bowyer helped Ferrum's offense rush for 270 yards per game and post
346.3 yards per game in total offense. He was also an
All-Conference first team selection this year. This is
