Ferrum's Silk Named to D3football.com 2006 All-South Region Team
Senior Tight End Named to Third Team

FERRUM, Va.  -- Senior TE Chris Silk (Ashland, Va./Patrick Henry) has earned All-Region honors from D3football.com.  Silk has been named to the All-South Region third team for the 2006 season.

This is Silk's second consecutive year to be so honored by the online publication.  Last season, after helping the Panthers earn a share of the USA South Athletic Conference regular season title and advance to the NCAA Division III playoffs, Silk was a D3football.com All-South Region second team honoree.

Silk caught 11 passes this year for 242 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 22 yards per catch.  He holds school records for career touchdowns and career yards per reception (22.6 yds/rec).  Silk scored 144 points in his four-year career with Ferrum.  For more information, please contact the Ferrum sports information office at (540) 365-4306.
