Ferrum Women Defeat Guilford

Davenport (Baton Rouge, La./Runnels) had a career-high 33 points
on 14-of-16 shooting to help the Ferrum College women's basketball
team pull out an 84-73 win over Guilford College this afternoon.

The non-conference game was played at Methodist College's Cross
Creek/Innkeeper Turkey Shootout. Davenport also had eight
rebounds and an assist in the win, going 5-7 at the free-thrown
line.
In another well-balanced scoring effort for Coach Bryan Harvey's
team, the Panthers had four players score in double digits.
Freshman forward
Tonya Wright
(Bland, Va./Bland County) had 18 points and six rebounds, senior
guard Aline Alzime (Leesburg, Va./Stonebridge)
had eight 13 points and six rebounds and senior guard
Quanita Bennett (Virginia Beach, Va./Coastal Christian) had 10
points.
The win was the third in a row for Ferrum (3-1).
Alexa Williams led Guilford (1-3) with 18 points.
The Panthers will face Piedmont College Nov. 26 at 2
p.m. in the second day of action at the Cross Creek/Innkeeper Turkey
