Ferrum Men Defeat Lynchburg 66-57

FERRUM, Va.  --  The Ferrum College men's basketball won for the third time in as many outings, defeating Lynchburg College 66-57 in non-conference action at Turner Gymnasium in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Junior forward Jon Godsey (Gladys, Va./William Campbell) and senior forward Keith Harris (Ringgold, Va./Dan River) had 13 points and six rebounds each to headline a group of five players in double0figure scoring.  Godsey also blocked a pair of Lynchburg shots.

Junior center Cedric Jones (Lynchburg, Va./Gulf Coast CC) had 11 points and 11 rebounds, senior guard Rob Fuller (Timberlake, N.C./Person) had 1 points and four assists, and sophomore guard Wayne Ford (Lynchburg, Va./Heritage) had 11 points.

Despite shooting 41% from the floor in the first half, to Lynchburg's 33%, the Panthers found themselves trailing 27-26 at halftime.  Ferrum outscored the Hornets 40-30 in the second half to remain unbeaten at 3-0 this season.  The Panthers trailed most of the second half but took the lead for good on a Ford 3-pointer to make it 56-53 Ferrum with 4:29 remaining in regulation.
