South Basketball Doubleheader
FERRUM, Va. --
Ferrum College and Methodist University split a USA South basketball
doubleheader this afternoon with the Panthers winning 81-63 in the
women's game and the Monarchs posting a 78-73 come-from-behind win
in the men's game.

In the women's game, senior guard

Bennett (Virginia beach, Va./Coastal Christian) led Ferrum in
scoring with
16 points. Senior guard
Aline Alzime
(Leesburg, Va./Stonebridge) had 3 points and 10 rebounds, her
third double-double in Ferrum's last four games.

Shanita
Bennett (Virginia beach, Va./Coastal Christian) had 12 points,

Methodist (4-6, 0-2 USA South) was led by Stacy Williams' 16 points
and Kristen Whitehurst's 10 points. (Ferrum (9-4, 2-0) led
34-27 at halftime and held a 39-37 rebounding edge at the end of
game.
In the men's game, Ferrum led by 18 points (50-32) with 15:39
remaining only to see the Monarchs charge back for the win,
outscoring the Panthers 46-23 down the stretch.

Methodist got 25 points from guard A.B. Lehmann, 14 of which came in
the second half. Dragan Radmanovic had 14 points and nine
rebounds, while Brandon Williams and Adrian Bascom had 13 points
each.
Ferrum will next host Greensboro College in a USA South doubleheader
Tuesday, Jan. 16. The women's game is set to tip-off at 5
