Coaching Staff FERRUM, Va. – Director of Athletics Abe Naff has announced the hiring of Robert Knotts as Head Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Coach and Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Ferrum College. Prior to his arrival at Ferrum, Knotts was self-employed since September 2004 as founder and CEO of Good Stewards, Inc. in Greensboro, North Carolina. Good Stewards, Inc. is a commercial residential cleaning company, servicing the greater Greensboro area. Previously, Knotts worked as a trauma registrar at High Point Regional Hospital from May 2004 through October 2005. He served as head coach for the Ledford High School JV boys basketball team during the 2003-04 school year, and also served as an assistant coach for Panther varsity program. A 2003 Ferrum graduate, Knotts played basketball four seasons, starting three, and ran cross country two years. Knotts was also involved with the Criminal Justice Club, Student Activities, and Summer Programs at Ferrum. He served a year as a Community Advisor in the College’s Residence Life Department. “I’m excited about joining the athletic staff at Ferrum,” said Knotts. “Being involved with two sports I played at Ferrum is just such a great opportunity for me. I’m looking forward to helping our student-athletes reach their academic and athletic goals.” Knotts earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from Ferrum in May of 2003. He will begin work toward his master's degree in January of 2007. Knotts earned his high school diploma from Thomasville (NC) High School in 1998, where he played basketball four years and helped the Bulldogs win the 1998 North Carolina state championship.
