The honor is one of a growing list for Brantley, who earned All-Conference honors the past two seasons at Ferrum, is the only player in school history to pass the 100-win mark, and was named a 2005 National Scholar-Athlete by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Brantley graduated two weeks ago with a double-major in
history & social studies, with a political science minor,.  He is the son of Crystal and Tommy Brantley, and was a member of Alpha Chi and Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Societies.  Brantley spent the past two summers instructing at the United States Naval Academy Tennis Camp in Annapolis, Maryland, and will do so again this summer.

Ferrum went 49-19 in men's tennis during Brantley's four-year tenure.  The Panthers posted a 12-7 record this past season under eighth-year head coach Gary Holden, the USA South's 2006 Men's Tennis Coach of the Year.
