FERRUM, Va. – Five of Ferrum College's six spring teams will compete in USA South Athletic Conference Tournaments this week. The league is hosting the first-ever Sports Festival, in which all six league championship tournaments will be contested in the same city, Burlington, North Carolina. USA South Tournament Spring Sports Festival Central Web Site In baseball, #3 Ferrum (25-9-1, 10-8 USA South) will face #6 Shenandoah University (23-13, 7-11) in the first round Wednesday, April 12, at 4:30 p.m. at Burlington Athletic Stadium. Coach Abe Naff's team swept Shenandoah in the three-game series this year by scores of 13-0, 6-2, and 12-3. Each of Ferrum's baseball tournament games will be web broadcast via Ferrum's athletics web site. USA South Baseball Tournament Site In softball, #3 Ferrum (19-17, 8-6) will face #6 Peace College (23-14, 5-9) in the first round at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Springwood Park. Coach Vickie Van Kleeck's team swept Peace this season, winning 8-0 and 10-2. USA South Softball Tournament Site In men's tennis, #4 Ferrum (11-6, 3-3 USA South) will face #5 Greensboro College (4-10, 2-4) in the first round at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Burlington Tennis Complex. Coach Gary Holden's team defeated Greensboro 7-0 earlier this season. In women's tennis, #6 Ferrum (4-9, 2-5 USA South) will face #3 Shenandoah University (7-7, 5-2) in the first round at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 13, at Burlington Tennis Complex. Shenandoah defeated Ferrum 7-1 last Sunday in their regular season match. USA South Men's & Women's Tennis Tournament Site In men's golf, Ferrum will compete in the USA South Tournament April 13-15 at Stoney Creek Golf Club in Stoney Creek, North Carolina.
