Lacrosse Wins Second Straight
Panthers Nip Hollins 6-5 on the Road


ROANOKE, Va.  – The Ferrum College women's lacrosse team picked up its second victory of the season with a 6-5 win over Hollins University March 15 on the road.  It was the second consecutive win for the Panthers.

Sophomore attack Stephanie Perih (Centreville, Va./Paul VI) had three goals and an assist to lead the Panthers once again.  She tallied the game-winner this afternoon as well in Monday's 9-8 overtime win over the University of Dallas.  Through Ferrum's first five matches, Perih currently leads the team in scoring with 22 points on 20 goals and two assists.

Sophomore Kerry Toomey (
Arnold, Md./Broadneck) scored a pair of goals for Ferrum and now has four on the season.  Freshman midfielder Lindy Williams (Sterling, Va./Paul VI) notched her first goal of the season in the win.  Freshman GK Jana Rodriguez (Winchester, Va./James Wood) had 12 saves in net for the Panthers. 

Ferrum (2-3) returns to action Thursday, March 16, at USA South Athletic Conference opponent Methodist College.
