Kolina Earns '05 All-State
Second Consecutive Honor for Sophomore
FERRUM, Va. – Ferrum College's
Cara Kolina (Staten
Island, N.Y./St. Joseph by the Sea) has been named to the 2005
College Division Women's Soccer All-State Team as voted upon by the
Virginia Sports Information Directors Association.
This is the second season in which Kolina has earned All-State honors.
Last season, she was also a second-team selection.
2005 VaSID College Division All-State Women's
Soccer Team
Kolina is a two-time All-Conference first team selection from her
position as a midfielder. This season, she tallied five goals and
five assists for 15 points this season. Kolina was injured part of
the season, missing four matches, but still notched three game-winning
goals.
Kolina led Ferrum as a freshman in 2004 with 10 goals, including three
game-winners, and five assists for 25 points. In two seasons she
has 15 goals (six game-winners), 10 assists, and 40 points. She
made the USA South All-Conference first team in both 2005 and 2004.
Ferrum finished the season at 7-10-1 overall under fourth-year Head
Coach Celia Mosier.
