Alzime All-Tournament at Methodist Shootout

FERRUM, Va. – Ferrum College women's basketball standout Aline Alzime (Leesburg, Va./Stonebridge) was named to the All-Tournament team at the Methodist/InnKeeper Turkey Shootout held Nov. 26-27in Fayetteville, N.C.

Alzime, a junior guard, averaged 13.5 points and six rebounds over two games as the Panthers went 1-1 at the tournament.

Ferrum lost 67-49 to Piedmont College Nov. 26, then rebounded for an 88-61 win over LaGrange College Nov. 27.  In the second game, Alzime had a game-high 21 points.

Alzime earned USA South All-Conference first team honors last season after averaging 14.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game for Ferrum.  She was the 2004 USA South Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Year when she averaged 11.3 points and 7.3 rebounds as a freshman.

Ferrum (2-3) returns to action this week with a pair of non-conference games at home.  On Wednesday, Nov. 30, the Panthers host Mary Baldwin College (1-2).  Coach Bryan Harvey's team will then host Bridgewater College (1-2) Friday, Dec. 2.  Both games begin at 7 p.m. in Swartz Gymnasium.
