Football Players Earn All-Conference
Dave Davis Named Coach of the Year

FERRUM, Va. – The USA South Athletic Conference announced the 2005 All-Conference football team and Ferrum was well-represented.

Coach Dave Davis earned his first Coach of the Year award after leading the Panthers to the NCAA playoffs. 

Senior RB Terrell Mulford (North Garden, Va./Charlottesville), senior OL Brian Michaelsen (Oxford, N.C./J.F. Webb), senior DL Alvin Jones (Brookneal, Va./William Campbell), junior TE Chris Silk (Ashland, Va./Patrick Henry), junior OL Pete Bowyer (Goode, Va./Jefferson Forest), junior P Matt Murphy (Salem, Va./Salem), and sophomore DB Perry Ford (Albany, Ga./Monroe) were all named to the All-Conference first team.

Second-team honorees include junior QB Jermaine Pitts (Winston-Salem, N.C./RJ Reynolds), junior FB Jacob Hawkins (Floyd, Va./Floyd County), and junior LB Jared Jordan (Roanoke, Va./Northside).

Ferrum (9-1) will play next in the NCAA Division III Playoffs.  The Panthers first round game will be against Wesley College Saturday, Nov. 19, in Dover, Delaware.  The game is being webcast through Ferrum's web site.  The pre-game show is set to begin at 11:45 a.m., with kickoff set for noon.  Game notes are also available here.
