Ferrum Cheerleaders Close out 2003-04 Season with Competitions

Ferrum, Va. – The Ferrum College cheerleading squad closed out the 2003-04 season with a pair of competitions, both sponsored by Atlantic Cheer and Dance.

Ferrum first competed at the Heavy Hitters Challenge, held at the Sovereign Bank Arena on February 14 in Trenton, New Jersey.  The Panthers competed in the "College All-Girl" division, earning first place.

The win also earned Ferrum a spot at the 2004 Battle at the Capitol Cheerleading & Dance National Championships.  Held March 6-7 at the Patriot Center on the campus of George Mason University, the Battle at the Capitol featured all college teams competing on Saturday, March 7.  Ferrum again competed in the "College All-Girl" division, placing second.

The Battle at the Capitol Cheerleading & Dance National Championships marked the first time that Ferrum had entered a national competition in cheerleading.  Members of the team which participated in both the Heavy Hitters Challenge and Battle at the Capitol competitions include:

The Panther cheerleading squad is led by Head Coach T.J.
