Panthers Land 50 on Academic All-Conference Team; Eight Earn Double-Honors for Ferrum FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2004-05 Academic All-Conference Team, sponsored by Bank of America, and Ferrum College has had 50 student-athletes named to the team. Eight Ferrum student-athletes earned double honors this season. Earning All-Conference and Academic All-Conference in 2004-05 were: Mindy Altice (volleyball) , Matt Brantley (men's tennis), Ryan Cooper (baseball), Kim Cox (softball), Desiree Dayton (women's cross country), Krystal Ellis (softball), Steven Helton (men's cross country), and Erich Trier (men's tennis). To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have earned a 3.0 grade point average in each of the two semesters of any given year. Any student-athlete participating in any varsity sport at any Conference institution is eligible. The sport does not have to be a Conference-sponsored sport. Ferrum's selections to the 2004-05 USA South/Bank of America Academic All-Conference Team are listed below.
