Greenway Tops Stolen Base Mark
Freshman Helps Panthers Split with NC
Wesleyan
SALEM, VA – Ferrum College pulled out a split with North
Carolina Wesleyan College this afternoon in a USA South Athletic
Conference softball doubleheader. The Panthers won 4-2 in the
first game, before falling 4-3 in the nightcap at the Moyer Sports
Complex.
Freshman
Mary Greenway
(Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) had three stolen bases this
afternoon, giving her new school records for season & career
stolen bases. Greenway now has 33 stolen bases, eclipsing
the career mark of 31 previously set by Lindsay Moore from
1999-2002. She now owns school records for game (4), season
(33), and career (33) stolen bases in just her first year of
collegiate softball.
Greenway went 2-3 in the first game with a run and two stolen
bases. Senior
Jami Reed (Danville,
Va./Tunstall) went 2-2 with a double and two RBI.
Sophomore Kim Cox (Gladys, Va./William Campbell) pitched a
complete game for the win, scattering nine hits over seven innings, while
striking out four and walking four. Ashlee Bass led the
Bishops, going 3-3 at the plate with an RBI double.

Wendy Hunt (Madison
Heights, Va./Amherst County) went 2-4 with a run and junior
Trica Moore
(Appomattox, Va./Appomattox County) had a solo home run in the
seventh inning. Shelley Hinson led N.C. Wesleyan (13-12,
3-5), going 3-3 with a run.

Virginia Wesleyan College in a non-conference doubleheader at
