Johnson, Toland Named to All-State Teams
FERRUM, VA -- Freshman
Kenny
Johnson (Beaver Falls, Pa./Beaver Falls) and senior
Tara Toland
(North, S.C./North)
have been named to the 2005 Men's and Women's College Division
All-State Basketball Teams, respectively, as voted upon by the
Virginia Sports
Information Directors Association.

VaSID College Division Women's Basketball All-State Team
Toland has been named to the All-State first time. She
averaged 18.6 points per game this season and led the nation in
assists with almost 7.6 per game. Toland was the USA South
Women's Basketball Player of the Year this season, and was a
first-team All-Conference selection. She is a three-time
All-Conference honoree, having been named to the first team in
2003 and the second team in 2004. Toland was also named to
the Women's Basketball Coaches
Association Division III All-America team this season as an
honorable mention.
Johnson has been named to the All-State second team. He was
the USA South Rookie of the Year in 2005, earning a spot on the
All-Conference second team. Johnson averaged 15.9 points and
6.3 assists per game, leading Ferrum in both categories as a
freshman.
The Ferrum women finished 15-12 overall this season, including an
11-3 conference mark under 29th-year Head Coach Donna Doonan.
The Panther men went 7-19 this season, 4-8 in the USA South under
first-year Head Coach Scott Shepherd. For more information,
