USA South Baseball Tournament
Pairings Announced
FAYETTEVILLE, NC -- The 2005 USA South
Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament pairings have been
announced by the league office and the Ferrum College Panthers
have drawn the #2 seed. The tournament is being played at
Dan Daniel Memorial Park in Danville, Virginia.
2005 USA South Baseball Tournament Bracket
Methodist College has earned the regular season title and will
play as the top seed in this week's tournament. Ferrum is
the #2 seed, followed by #3 Christopher Newport University, #4
North Carolina Wesleyan, #5 Greensboro College, #6 Shenandoah
University, and #7 Averett University.
Tournament Seeds
1. Methodist (24-9, 13-5 USA South);
2. Ferrum (16-10-1, 9-5); 3.
Chris. Newport (22-13, 10-7);
4. N.C. Wesleyan (21-14, 10-8); 5. Greensboro
(20-14, 8-7); 6. Shenandoah (19-16, 8-11);
7. Averett (6-30, 1-17)
The tournament opens Thursday, April 14, with a play-in game
between #6 Shenandoah and #7 Averett at 3 p.m. On Friday,
April 15, #4 N.C. Wesleyan will meet #5 Greensboro at 10 a.m.
The winner of the play-in game will then face #3 Christopher
Newport at 1:15 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., Methodist will play the
winner of the NCW/Shenandoah game. Ferrum will then face the
winner of the CNU/play-in winner game at 7:45 p.m.
The double-elimination tournament continues Saturday through
