Ferrum Golfers 8th at Scalf Invit.
Doughty Cards Two-Day 158 Score to Finish 29th
TARBORO, N.C. – The Ferrum
College men's golf team finished eighth at the 2005 Don Scalf
Invitational, held February 14-15 at the Links at Cotton Valley in
Tarboro, North Carolina.

Senior Kent Doughty (Mount
Sidney, Va./Fort Defiance) was the Panthers' top finisher.
Doughty tied for 29th place in a field of 50 participants with a
two-day scored of 158. He carded a 74 on the first day, and
followed with an 84 the second day.
Senior Jesse
Hodges (Bedford, Va./Liberty) posted a 159 (76, 83),
finishing tied for 33rd place individually. Sophomore
Adam Crawford (Willis,
Va./Floyd County) was Ferrum's third-highest finisher at 46th
with a 167 score.
The tournament was hosted by North Carolina Wesleyan College and
is named in honor of former Bishops Coach Don Scalf, who is
currently a member of the faculty at the school.
Ferrum
returns to action March 6-8, hosting the Smith Mountain Lake
Invitational at Waterfront Country Club.
