Ferrum Football Game Can Drive
College Offers Free Admission to Football Game for Two Canned Food Items

Ferrum, Va. – In support of the USA South Athletic Conference's "Cans Across the Conference" program, Ferrum College has announced it will allow fans admission to this Saturday's home football game in exchange for canned food items.

Any fans who bring two canned or other non-perishable food items will receive free admission to the Ferrum vs. North Carolina Wesleyan game on Saturday, November 6.  The two schools are playing for the first time.  The Battling Bishops are playing in their inaugural football season.

The Cans Across the Conference project is a
community service competition amongst the schools in the USA South, where each campus' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee organizes a canned food drive at their school from September 30 - November 13.  The drive is to benefit a local charity.  Ferrum has selected the St. James Community Center Food Bank as its charity.

Ferrum stands atop the leader board in the league's can drive with 1,867 cans collected to date.  Methodist College is currently running second with 664 cans.  For more details on the Cans Across the Conference project, please contact the USA South web site at www.usasouth.net or by phone at (910) 630-7326.

Kickoff for Saturday's Ferrum-N.C. Wesleyan football game is at 1 p.m.  For more information, please contact the Ferrum College Sports Information Office at (540) 365-4306.
