Panthers Post 3-1 Win Over Hood in Women's Soccer
Perih Leads FC with Two Goals
Ferrum, Va. – Freshman midfielder Stephanie
Perih (Centreville, Va./Paul VI)
scored two goals to lift Ferrum College to a 3-1 non-conference
women's soccer win over Hood College October 25 in Frederick,
Maryland.

The Panthers trailed 1-0 after Laurie Burrier put
Hood on the board 7:59 into the game. Perih tied the game
at 1-1 when she drilled the upper right corner of the net from
30 yards out, unassisted at 22:25.
Freshman midfielder Cara
Kolina (Staten Island, N.Y./St.
Joseph by the Sea)
netted what would be the game-winner for Ferrum, an unassisted
score just before halftime at 43:01. Kolina leads the
Panthers this season in shots (37), goals (9), and points
(23). Perih sealed the deal for Ferrum with her second
goal of the afternoon, lofting the ball over Hood goalkeeper
Jennifer Guyer at the 85:08 mark.
Sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth
Haines (Baltimore, Md./Franklin) made three saves, playing
all 90 minutes in net. Ferrum improves to 4-8-2 with the
win, while the Blazers fell to 8-7-1. Ferrum out-shot Hood
24-7 and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Coach Celia Mosier's team will return to action Wednesday,
October 27, hosting Meredith College at 3 p.m. in non-conference
action. Ferrum will then close out regular season play
with a non-conference match at Hollins University October 29,
and a USA South Athletic Conference match against Methodist
