Alzime, Kellam Earn USA South Honors
Pair
Helps Ferrum Win Two USA South Games

Alzime (Leesburg, Va./Stonebridge) and
Brittany
Kellam (Collinsville, Va./Magna Vista) have been named USA South
Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Kellam and Alzime helped the Panthers to a pair of big wins last
week, an 86-56 home win over Peace College on January 12 and a
77-50 home win over Methodist College on January 15.
- Alzime had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Peace. She
then had 15 points, seven rebounds, six steals and four assists in
the win over Methodist. Alzime, last season's USA South
Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year, is averaging 14 points and
11.2 rebounds this season for Ferrum (5-8, 4-0 USA South).
Kellam had 14 points in the win
over Peace, then had 22 points in the win over Methodist.
She started both games for Ferrum, her first two career starts.
Kellam is averaging 6.8 points per game for Ferrum this season, in
just over 17 minutes per game.
On January 18, Ferrum won it's third consecutive USA South game,
an 83-47 blowout over conference leader Greensboro College
at home. Alzime had 16 points and six rebounds, while Kellam
had 18 points, including four three-point baskets.
The Panthers will be back in action Jan. 22 at
Christopher Newport University for a 2 p.m. game. Coach
Donna Doonan's team will then be at
Shenandoah University January 26 at 5:30 p.m. Both games are
part of USA South doubleheaders and will see the men's games
