Ferrum Women Win Big Over Peace
Panthers Stay Unbeaten in USA South with 86-56 Romp
Ferrum, Va.
– Led by four players in double figures, the Ferrum College
women's basketball team picked up an 86-56 win tonight over
visiting Peace College. The win keeps Ferrum perfect in the
USA South Athletic Conference at 2-0.

Sophomore
Aline Alzime (Leesburg, Va./Stonebridge) had 18 points and 11
rebounds to lead the Panthers. Senior
Tara Toland
(North, S.C./North) also had 18 points and added six assists
and a block.
Freshman
Brittany Kellam (Collinsville, Va./Magna Vista) scored 14
points, making her first collegiate start. Senior
Angie
VonWergers (Albany, N.Y./Hudson Valley College) had eight
points to go with 11 rebounds.
Tia Saunders (Lawndale,N.C./Burns) led Peace with 14 points.
Gina Lane (Jacksonville, N.C./White Oak) added 10 points for the
Pacers.
Ferrum (3-8, 2-0 USA South) led 44-25 at halftime, and
out-rebounded Peace (6-4, 2-2) 42-31. The Panthers play next
on Saturday, January 15, at 2 p.m. against USA South opponent
Methodist College.
