Griffin, Sanchez Named All-Region in
Baseball
- Senior Duo Second-Team
Selections

- Ferrum, Va. – Senior pitcher Carlos Sanchez
(Stanleytown, Va./Bassett) and senior catcher Kevin
Griffin (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) have been named to the 2004 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III
All-South Region Baseball Team. The team is voted upon
by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Sanchez
and Griffin are both second-team selections this year.

- Griffin (pictured above right) is a repeat selection, having earned a
spot on the All-Region honorable mention team a year ago. He batted
.346 this season with six doubles, three triples, eight home runs,

RBI, a .630 slugging percentage and .976
fielding percentage. Griffin was the USA South's first team
All-Conference selection this season at catcher.

- Sanchez was a second team All-Conference pitcher for the
Panthers this season. He went 9-2 on the mound with a
3.33 ERA and 67 strikeouts. This is Sanchez's first
All-Regional honor.

- Ferrum went 26-11 this season, earning the USA South regular
season title for the second straight season. The
Panthers are led by Head Coach Abe Naff, who earned USA South Coach of
