Trier Earns All-Conference
Sophomore a Repeat Selection in Men's Tennis
 
Ferrum, Va. -- Ferrum College sophomore Erich Trier (Middleburg, Va./Loudoun Valley) earned men's tennis All-Conference honors in the USA South Athletic Conference for the 2004 season.

Trier earned a runner-up finish at the 2004 USA South Tournament April 17-18 in Newport News, Virginia, at #5 singles.  This is the second year in which Trier has been named to the All-Conference team.  He place second at #5 singles and second at #3 doubles last season as well in earning a pair of All-Conference second team awards.

Trier closed out his sophomore campaign at 22-5 in singles, 13-7 in doubles, and 35-12 overall.  In two years with Ferrum, Trier is 38-11 in singles, 28-11 in doubles, and 66-22 overall.  
 
Ferrum finished 15-3 as a team for the second straight year, and won the Ferrum Fall Classic, won the Ferrum Fall Invitational, and won the 2004 Bud Skeens memorial Tournament.  The Panthers placed 3rd in the regular season and tied for 3rd in the USA South Tournament.  Both the regular season and conference tournament 3rd-place finishes are school records, since Ferrum joined the NCAA Division III ranks in 1985-86.
