Matern Named All-Conference in Women's
Lacrosse- Senior Earns Fourth League Honor

- Ferrum, Va. -- Ferrum College senior Ginni
Matern (Stafford, Va./No. Stafford) has been named to the 2004
USA South Women's Lacrosse All-Conference second team.

USA South Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team
This is Matern's fourth All-Conference honor. She was a
first-team selection in 2001, and made the second team in 2002,
2003, and 2004. Matern is Ferrum's first four-time
All-Conference selection in women's lacrosse.

- Matern led Ferrum all season in both goals and
scoring. She netted 35 goals and had an assist, totaling 36
points. She helped lead the Panthers to a 3-10 final record
this season, including a 1-4 finish in the USA South. Ferrum
closed out the season with a 20-3 USA South Tournament quarterfinal
loss to Shenandoah University April 13 in Winchester, Virginia.

- For her four-year career, Matern had 70 goals and
12 assists, for 82 career points. An all-around great
student-athlete, Matern also played for the Ferrum women's soccer
