- Alzime Earns USA South Honor
- Freshman Named Women's
Basketball Rookie of the Week

- Ferrum, Va. – Ferrum College freshman Aline
Alzime (Leesburg, Va./Stonebridge) has been named Women's
Basketball Rookie of the Week by the USA South Athletic Conference.
The award is Alzime's first this season.

- Alzime averaged 18.3 points and 6-7 rebounds in three games last
week. The Panthers went 2-1 last week, with wins over
Shenandoah University and North Carolina Wesleyan College.
Ferrum's only setback was to top-ranked Chowan College, an 87-80
road loss in overtime.

- Alzime had 21 points against Shenandoah, 21 points
and nine rebounds against Chowan, and 13 points against North
Carolina Wesleyan. As a freshman, Alzime is averaging 11.9
points and 5.6 rebounds per game. She has scored over 20
points four times this season.
Ferrum (10-7, 6-2 USA South) returns to action February 4 for
a USA South doubleheader at Averett University, in Danville,
Virginia. The women tip off at 5:30 p.m., with the men to
