- Shenandoah Men Down Ferrum
- Aigbe Nets 24 Points in
Loss

- Ferrum, Va. – In a makeup game, originally
scheduled for January 25, Shenandoah
University defeated Ferrum College 76-71 in a USA South Athletic
Conference men's basketball game tonight in Ferrum.

- Sophomore Kenneth Purnell led all scorers with 27
points, going 7-15 from the floor and a perfect 10-10 from the line
for Shenandoah. Junior Chris Jenkins added 11 points for the
Hornets.
Senior Kevin
Aigbe (Nashville, Tenn./Volunteer State CC) led the Panthers
with 24 points on 8-13 shooting from the floor. Aigbe,
pictured, also led Ferrum with 11 rebounds. He leads the team
in scoring and rebounding this season with 13.2 points and 7.6
rebounds per game.

- Freshman Kendrick
Holley (Winston-Salem,
N.C./No. Forsyth)
had 18 points tonight. Sophomore Chris
Smith (Roanoke, Va./Northside) had 12 points, while freshman Darrian
Jones (Maryville, Tenn./Hiwassee JC) had 10.
Shenandoah led 35-28 at halftime, shooting 43 percent from the floor
in the first half, while the Panthers shot just under 30
percent. Despite the loss, Ferrum out-rebounded the Hornets
41-34. Shenandoah evens its record at 7-7 overall and is 3-2
in the USA South. Ferrum falls to 7-9, 1-4 in league play.

- Ferrum will be back in action Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 31 and Feb.
1, with a pair of USA South doubleheaders at Chowan College and North Carolina Wesleyan
College, respectively. The women's games begin at 2 p.m. both
