Earlier this month, Cox was named to the NCAA Division III All-Atlantic Region third team at third base.  She was a first-team All-Conference selection this year as well, batting .333 (38-114) with one double, four triples, one home run, and 15 RBI.  She scored 19 runs, was 3-4 in stolen bases, and had a .957 fielding percentage from her spot at third base.

Cox has been named to the Dixie Academic All-Conference team the past two seasons, and is expected to be this year as well when the league announces the 2002-03 team.  She was the team's Defensive Player of the Year this season.  Cox is majoring in biology at Ferrum, with minors in chemistry and environmental science.  She is the daughter of Jesse and Dawn Cox of Waldorf, Maryland.  For more information, please contact the sports information office at (540) 365-4306.
