     2003 NFCA All-Atlantic Region Team

Cox batted .333 (38-114) with one double, four triples, one home run, and 15 RBI this season.  She scored 19 runs, was 3-4 in stolen bases, and had a .957 fielding percentage from her spot at third base.

Cox has earned All-Conference in all three years at Ferrum.  She was a first team selection this season, and made the second team the past two years.  She helped Ferrum win last year's Dixie Conference Tournament, earning the Panthers their first-ever trip to the NCAA playoffs.  Ferrum bettered its #5 seed by placing third at the Atlantic Regionals, held in Atlanta at Emory University.

Cox has been named to the Dixie Academic All-Conference team the past two seasons, and is expected to be this year as well when the league announces the 2002-03 team.  She was the team's Defensive Player of the Year this season, helping Ferrum finish with an 18-17 overall record.  The Panthers are led by 13th-year Head Coach Vickie Van Kleeck.

Cox is majoring in biology at Ferrum, with minors in chemistry and environmental science.  She is the daughter of Jesse and Dawn Cox of Waldorf, Maryland.  For more information, please contact the sports information office at (540) 365-4306.
