Durham, Toland Named To  All-Tournament Team
Durham Earns MVP at Lynchburg Tip-Off Tournament
 
Lynchburg, Va. – Two Ferrum College women's basketball players have been named to the All-Tournament team at the 2002 Lynchburg College Tip-Off Tournament.  The tournament was held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22-23 in Lynchburg, Virginia.  Ferrum went 1-1 at the season-opening tournament, losing 75-68 Nov. 22 to Roanoke College and defeating host Lynchburg 80-61 Nov. 23.

Junior Tanisha Durham (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) and Tara Toland (North, S.C./North) were both selected to the All-Tournament team, with Durham earning Most Valuable Player honors.
 
Against Lynchburg, Durham had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead all scorers.  She had 18 points and nine rebounds in the loss to Roanoke.  Toland had 17 points and five steals against Lynchburg, as well as a game-high 22 points against Roanoke.

Senior Tina McBride (Glade Hill, Va./Franklin County) just missed a triple-double against Lynchburg with her 17-point, 15-rebound, 8-assist game.  Sophomore Amber Triplett (Bassett, Va./Bassett) had 11 points, while junior Shermika Harris (Martinsville, Va./Laurel Park) had nine points, 13 rebounds, and six assists.
 
Ferrum is 1-1 overall and will be back in action Nov. 30 through Dec. 1 at the Methodist College Thanksgiving Shootout in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  For more information, please contact the Ferrum sports information office at (540) 365-4306.
