- Triplett Named Dixie Player of the Week
- Sophomore Scores 53 Points in Last Three Games

- Ferrum, Va. – Sophomore guard Amber
Triplett (Bassett, Va./Bassett) has been named Dixie
Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her part in
three Ferrum games last week. She averaged 17.7 points as
Ferrum won all three non-conference games on the road.

- Triplett scored 21 points in the Panthers' 57-53 win over
Bridgewater College Jan. 8 in Bridgewater, Virginia. In that
game, Triplett drilled five of her eight three-point field goal
attempts.

- In a 72-31 victory over Medgar Evars College Jan. 10 in
Brooklyn, New York, Triplett had 16 points on 6-11 shooting.
She had another 16 points in Ferrum's 79-48 win over York College
Jan. 11 in Jamaica, New York.
Also nominated for this week's Dixie Player of the Week honor were
Latasha Watlington of Methodist College, Tameka Parks of
Greensboro College, Lakisha Jones of Averett University and
Tomorrow Lofton of Christopher Newport University.

- Triplett is averaging 13.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game
through Ferrum's first nine games this season. She leads the
team in three-point field goal percentage, shooting 40% (20-50)
from behind the arc. As a freshman last season, she averaged
8.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and shot .411 from three-point range.

- Ferrum is now 8-1 overall and plays again tonight
in a non-conference game at home against Randolph-Macon
College. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. The Panthers open
Dixie Conference play Thursday, Jan. 16, at home against Averett
