Dennis Craddock ‘65
- Henderson, North Carolina
- MVP
of 1965 track team and member of football team at Ferrum. Lettered in
track at Lynchburg College and earned a master’s degree in education
from the University of Virginia. Coached high school track for eight
years, during which time his teams compiled a 117-8 dual meet record
and won three Virginia state championships. As head track and field
coach at the University of Virginia from 1983 to 1985, led Cavaliers
to three Atlantic Coast Conference titles. Named head men’s and
women’s track and field coach at the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill in 1985. Selected as ACC Coach of the Year 14 times.
During his tenure, Tarheel track and field teams won 18 ACC titles. In
18 years as a collegiate coach, his athletes have won more than 180
All-American awards. Named 1995 National Collegiate Coach of the Year
for men’s indoor track and field.

Horace M. “Bo”
Henson, Jr. ‘62
- Lynchburg, Virginia

- Was
one of first players recruited by Coach Hank Norton and a member of
Norton’s first two Panther football teams in 1960 and 1961, which went
a combined 10-1-4. Received a full football scholarship to George
Washington University and earned a master’s degree in education from
Lynchburg College. Has worked as a teacher and football coach for more
than 30 years and has been a basketball official and baseball umpire
for 22 years. Named head football coach at E.C. Glass High School in
Lynchburg in 1979. Ranked third among active high school coaches in
Virginia with a 134-52-5 career record. Was named Virginia Coach of
the Year in 1988. During his tenure, the Hilltoppers have won one
state championship (1988), twice been state runners-up, won five
Northwest Region Championships, and nine Western District
Championships.

Renso “Rock” Perdoni
‘69
- Sherborrn, Massachusetts
-
Named National Junior College Athletic Association Lineman of the Year
and NJCAA All-American as captain of 1968 Shrine Bowl junior college
national championship game. Went on to earn numerous national honors
at Georgia Tech where he was named co-captain of the Kodak
All-American team; selected to eight All-America teams; named
Outstanding Lineman in the Sun Bowl; selected as a Lombardi Award
finalist; given the Swede Neilson Award from the Gridiron Club of
Boston; and named Georgia Amateur Athlete of the Year by the
Atlanta Journal. Holds a place on Georgia Tech’s “100 Year Team”
as one of Tech’s best players ever in a century of football. Played
football professionally with the Hamilton Tigercats of the Canadian
Football League. Managing partner of Perdoni Brothers Construction Co.
for more than 20 years.

- Marny Sue Richardson ‘66
- Church View, Virginia
- A
multi-sport standout at Ferrum who played all sports offered to women
at the time: intercollegiate basketball and tennis and intramural flag
football and softball. Member of Phi Beta Kappa national honor society
and named Ferrum Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Year in
1965 and 1966. Earned a bachelor’s degree from Radford University. Has
been a Virginia High School League volleyball official for 19 years,
and spent nine years as a VHSL basketball official. Vice president of
Middlesex Education Association, 1993-95. Long-time community service
and rescue squad volunteer. Now retired from coaching, she served as
volleyball, softball, and gymnastics coach at Middlesex High School
and was named District Coach of the Year in softball in 1980 and
District Coach of the Year in volleyball in 1994. Currently teaching
health, physical education, and driver’s education at Middlesex High
School.

Cynthia L. Warring
‘82
- Roanoke, Virginia
-
Named to National Junior College Athletic Association All-American
team in 1982 from Ferrum. Member of Ferrum’s `1982 divisional state
championship team. Two-time NJCAA All-Region selection and two-time
member of Virginia All-State Team from Ferrum. Recipient of Ferrum
College President’s Cup, awarded to the College’s top senior
student-athlete each year, and member of Phi Theta Kappa honor
society. Scored more than 2,000 points in collegiate career. Named to
1984 NCAA Division II All-American team from Radford University. Led
Lady Highlanders in scoring in 1983 and 1984. Ten-year veteran police
officer with the Roanoke City Police Department. Named Traffic Officer
of the Year in 1987. Works with COPE (Community Oriented Policing
Effort) and DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) programs.
