Welcome from the President of the Alumni Association
This has been an incredible year for me. Thank you for the opportunity to give back by electing me president of the Ferrum College Alumni Association. Ferrum is a family for our alumni and I am proud of the contributions that our alma mater has made to society – through you!
I also want to thank the members of the Alumni Board of Directors (ABOD) who give their time, energy and enthusiasm to organizing the Association and developing plans that are appealing to a diverse group of our alumni. I am impressed by their commitment. Together we focus our efforts on generating results that will produce a stronger Ferrum, a stronger Alumni Association, and stronger Alumni Chapters.
This year alone the professional staff from the Alumni Office and Institutional Advancement Office have worked to bring coaches, campus updates, tailgates, and other activities to several of our Chapter areas. One of our goals for the next year is to increase the participation in Chapter events and I ask each of you to join in and join us – on campus or off!
Ferrum College will soon be celebrating our 100th anniversary! I am looking forward to the centennial celebration and hope that you are too. I wish that each of you will consider how you have benefited from your experiences at Ferrum give back in your own way. Colleges, like businesses, are judged by the quality of the products they produce. Ferrum is judged by its alumni – its output. It is Panthers like you and I who can continue to make Ferrum grow and prosper. When you make a gift to the Ferrum Fund you help to increase academic programs and financial aid for students. Even though you are a graduate you can still have an impact on the mission of the College – to educate the next generation of Ferrum alumni!
