Welcome fellow Golden Panthers!
Please check in regularly to see what your fellow Ferrum alumni are planning!
As a Golden Panther you are a member of a distinguished group of Ferrum College alumni who are in classes who graduated at least 50 years ago. Originally established as the 50-year Club in 1974, the Golden Panthers not only get together to socialize and reminisce, but we also do our part to give back to Ferrum College.
You can participate in the following ways:
- Attend Athletic and Social Events on and off Campus
- Attend the Homecoming Induction of the current 50th Reunion Class
We would love for every member of the Golden Panthers to be involved. Whether you have ideas for excursions, would like to help coordinate the Annual Fall Meeting, or financially support the Golden Panthers scholarship or Ferrum Fund please consider helping out!
Again, welcome to all Golden Panthers! It is my pleasure to serve as your Chair. My hope is to continue to bring all of us together for fun, fellowship, fundraising – and the love of Ferrum!

In January 2017 the Golden Panther Steering Committee issued a challenge to all their fellow Golden Panthers – increase the giving percentage of the Golden Panther Endowed Scholarship. Historically the giving for the group has been <1% of the total group. The steering committee’s hope is to raise participation and recognize the group and their efforts to help Ferrum students. The first semester of this year the participation for the Golden Panther Endowed Scholarship was 1%. The goal for the challenge is to raise participation to 25%. Currently we are at 5% giving! Let’s continue the good work, support the scholarship and meet the goal by June 30, 2017!
Golden Panther Endowed Scholarship Participation
The Golden Panther Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 1982 with an initial gift of $12,365. Since that time (as of September 30th, 2016) the fund has grown to over $317,299.51. The fund has provided financial aid to more than 120 students at Ferrum College in the last decade.
The GP scholarship fund is listed in the official College catalogue. The principle amount in the fund grows from contributions and bequests from members of the Golden Panthers Club and other interested persons. The principle is commingled with the permanent endowment fund of Ferrum College and is invested according to the policies of the Board of Trustees.
Any Ferrum College student may apply for a scholarship award and priority is given to children of Ferrum Alumni who have demonstrated academic ability and intend to pursue a Christian vocation.

It is the goal of the members of the Beckham Society to create educational opportunities for current and future Ferrum College students.
