Philip Weeks ’52, of Forest, is a retired bishop.
Amos Rideout, Jr. ’62, of Stony Creek, is a board member of Virginia United Methodist Pensions, Inc. where he serves as chair of the personnel and nominating committee.
James Clements ’67, of Hurt, is retired from Dominion Generation where he worked as a procurement engineer.
Regenia Knupp Wine ’67, of Waynesboro, was awarded the adjunct faculty award at Blue Ridge Community College.
George Yancey ’67, of Gordonsville, recently retired from a thirty-seven year career in retail/commercial and wealth management banking. He is married to Phyllis. George is a member of Ferrum College Board of Trustees serving as Chairman of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Investment Committee, member of the Orange County Planning Commission for six years+, founding member of the Germanna Wilderness Area Plan for Orange County, Vice Chairman of Dogwood Village Foundation and Dogwood Village Senior Living and appointed to the Dogwood Village Health Commission.
John G. Kines, Jr. ’68, of Disputanta, has been appointed by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe to the Virginia Board of Social Services. Kines has served in local government more than 35 years. He recently completed 12 years as a member of the Virginia Commission on Local Government.

Gene Haynes ’76, on Concord, NC, is employed by State Farm Insurance Co as an agent.

Melissa Powell Gay ’77, of Glen Allen, published a novel, When Are You Leaving. The novel is set in southwestern VA, somewhere between Franklin County and Roanoke. The story is about a small town living in a 21st century world. She blogs about her book and southern living at thiscommonreader.com and is currently working on her second novel. Al Latimer ’77, of Apopka, FL, has published a novel, The Irregular Ordination of Preacher Jim. For the last 18 years, Al has been a senior member of Florida Governor’s office of economic development. He also serves on the state’s Higher Education Coordinating Council, which advises the Florida Legislature on education and workforce talent issues. Charles Neal ’81, of Durham, NC, is employed by Domino’s Pizza as a delivery driver. He has worked as a driver and manager for the last 33 years. He recently published a book called Getting the Pizzas to the People. Books can be purchased online at lulu.com as Kindle, e-book or hard copy.
G. Bryan Slater ’82, of Washington, DC, has appointed as Assistant Secretary for Administration at the U.S. Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. Previous to his current appointment, Slater served as the Director of Operations and Facilities for Freedom Partners Shared Services. Throughout his highly lauded career, Slater has held many leadership positions within Federal and state governments.
Kevin Poeckert ’83, of Weyers Cave, is employed by the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church as a pastor at Mount Clinton United Methodist Church.
Ray Daisey ’84, of Horntown, is employed by Taylor Bank as assistant vice-president, branch manager. He is living in the remote eastern shore of VA.

Joey Stanley ’93, of Callaway, is the owner of Uptown Gifts in Towers Mall, Roanoke, VA. He creates handmade gifts using ordinary items.
Timothy Moore ’94, of Marco Island, FL, is employed by Collier County Government as a manager of landscape operations. He is married to Heather ’94, and she is employed by Seacrest Country Day School as a development associate.
Kimberly O’Bryan ’95, of Alexandria, is engaged to Eric Stewart. They are set to marry on December 9, 2017. She is employed by Fairfax County Public Schools as a special education coordinator.
