Athletics and Sports at Ferrum College
Tradition at Ferrum is important—a strong sense of pride and school spirit. Ferrum athletics brings this out in the college community. Many students participate in varsity and intramural competition.A competitive Division III school, Ferrum has earned a number of NCAA records and championships including 2005 Conference Tournament Championships in both men’s baseball and women’s softball and the 2006 USA South Conference Championship in football. If you have ever seen Major League Baseball phenom Billy Wagner on the Sports Center highlight reel, you have seen one of the 70 former Panthers who have made their way to professional sports. While our student-athletes excel on the field and court, Ferrum’s dedication to academics ensures that they work as hard as they play.
