Newsbank Newspapers includes searchable full text of hundreds of papers from around the U. S. and the world.

Newspaper Source Plus: Accesses over 28 million full text articles from 1,520 full-text newspapers. Also features over 600,00 transcripts from 600,000 tv, radio and podcast sources.

OCLC’s First Search contains several research tools, including WorldCat. This massive union catalog allows users to search through over 50 million books. When our collection does not have a book you need, try First Search to identify a title for interlibrary loan. Most of these loans are free to our students and faculty.

Oxford Journals is a collection of searchable full-text scholarly journals in a variety of fields published by Oxford University Press.

Richmond Daily Dispatch has the complete text of the newspaper from 1860 through 1865. This resource is provided by the library at the University of Richmond.

Richmond Times-Dispatch is the current version of the Richmond paper. Coverage goes back to 1985.

Over 80% of all current records include abstracts. Also included are full texts of book reviews published in the Journal of Economic Literature.

Economia y Negocios: Focuses on international business issues, as reported in Spanish language publications. Indexes more that 200 Spanish and Portuguese language periodicals. Includes publications from Argentina, Brazil Chile, Columbia, Spain, the United States, and others.

FACTIVA is an excellent source for comprehensive business information. FACTIVA also has the full text of thousands of newspapers, magazines, and journals. The “News Pages” section has the last few issues of key publications such as the Wall Street Journal.

Hospitality & Tourism Complete: Covers demographics and statistics, development and investment, food and beverage management, hospitality law, hotel management and administrative practices, leisure and business travel, market trends, technology, and more. Ecology is comprised of searchable full-text versions of four journals from the Ecological Society of America. It is good place to start research in environmental science.

Environment Complete: The electronic version of Environment Index, covering applicable areas of agriculture, ecosystem ecology, energy, natural resources, marine & freshwater science, geography, pollution & waste management, environmental technology, environmental law, public policy, social impacts, urban planning, and more. It contains citations for articles from domestic and international journals, monographs and conference papers of the North American Association of Environmental Education.

Environmental Science and Technology: Environmental Science & Technology (ES&T) is an authoritative source of information for professionals in a wide range of environmental disciplines. The journal combines magazine and research sections and is published both in print and online.

GreenFILE: Provides access to over 4,700 full text reports examining the impact of environmental change. Database coverage ranges from climate change, sustainable energy and pollution to recycling, ethical business practices and green building and government initiatives to reduce the effects of environmental damage.

ACLS Humanities E-Books is a project of the American Council of Learned Societies that contains hundreds of current and classic books on history. It is full-text and supports a variety of search formats.

American Civil War: Letters and Diaries contains 2,009 authors and approximately 100,000 pages of diaries, letters and memoirs. The collection also includes biographies, an extensive bibliography of the sources in the database, and material licensed from The Civil War Day-by-Day by E.B. Long.

Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers  Search America's historic newspapers pages from 1836-1922 or use the U.S. Newspaper Directory to find information about American newspapers published between 1690-present. Chronicling America is sponsored jointly by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Library of Congress.

Early American Imprints: Archive of Americana, 1670-1800: This family of historical collections contains books, pamphlets, broadsides, newspapers, government documents and ephemera printed in America over three centuries.

Early Encounters in North America contains 1,482 authors and over 100,000 pages of letters, diaries, memoirs and accounts of early encounters with the peoples and places of the New World from 1601 to after 1850.

European Views of the Americas: 1493 to 1750: Contains more than 32,000 entries and is a comprehensive guide to printed records about the Americas written in Europe before 1750. It covers the history of European exploration as well as portrayals of native American peoples. A wide range of subject areas are covered; from natural disasters to disease outbreaks and slavery.

Evans Early American Imprints is a huge database of full-text versions of books and other publications printed in America before 1800.

Facts on File is a U. S. and world news digest covering from 1940 to the present. It is an excellent place to research events since WWII.

Harpweek contains the searchable full text of the magazine Harper’s Weekly from 1857 to 1877. It is an excellent resource for the era around and including the War Between the States.

Alt HealthWatch: This database offers indexing and full text for more than 160 alternative, complementary and holistic health care publications, from the mid-1990’s to the present including reports, proceedings, association and consumer newsletters.

American Journal of Sports Medicine: Searchable full text back to 1999.

Consumer Health Complete: An in-depth, user friendly resource designed to answer everyday consumer health questions in both English and Spanish. CHC covers all areas of health and wellness, from mainstream medicine to perspectives on integrated and holistic medical practices.

Health Source - Consumer Edition: Provides access to the full-text of over 190 journals covering authoritative health information for consumers. Several health books and over 1000 health-related pamphlets are also available.

Health Source - Nursing/Academic Edition: Provides nearly 550 scholarly full text journals, including nearly 450 peer-reviewed journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Also featured are abstracts and indexing for nearly 850 journals. Coverage of nursing and allied health is particularly strong.

Journal of Sport Rehabilitation

Magill's Medical Guide: An authoritative reference source covering diseases, disorders, treatments, procedures, specialties, anatomy, biology, and issues in an A-Z format, with sidebars addressing recent developments in medicine and concise information boxes for all diseases and disorders.

Medline is the National Library of Medicine’s index (with many full text articles) of articles from medical journals and important research studies. It is the best place to research medical topics.

PubMed Central (PMC) is the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature.

Salud en Espanol (Also known as Consumer Health Complete Spanish Version): Content covers all areas of health and wellness, from mainstream medicine to complementary, holistic and integrated medicine.

Natural Sciences

AgBioForum is a searchable, web-based journal with articles focused on biotechnology and economics in agriculture.

American Journal of Botany: This is a scholarly journal published by the Botanical Society of America.

BioOne brings to the Web a uniquely valuable aggregation of the searchable full-texts of high-impact bioscience research journals. Most of BioOne's titles are published by small societies and non-commercial publishers, and, until now, have been available only in printed form.

Chemical and Engineering News: Chemical & Engineering News is a weekly magazine published by the American Chemical Society. Survey Documentation and Analysis is a set of programs for the documentation and Web-based analysis of survey data. There are also procedures for creating customized subsets of datasets. This set of programs is developed and maintained by the Computer-assisted Survey Methods Program (CSM) at the University of California, Berkeley. CSM also develops the CASES software package.

Teacher Education

Digest of Educational Statistics is the United States Department of Education’s collection of

reports and statistics for a ten-year period (1995-2005).

Education Research Complete: A bibliographic and full text database covering scholarly research and information relating to all areas of education. Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 1,500 journals, as well as full text for more than 750 journals. This database also includes full text for more than 100 books and monographs, and full text for numerous education-related conference papers.

ERIC is the standard research database for all education topics. Searches can be limited to full-text results.
