Study Abroad in Seville, Spain

Ferrum College students regularly study abroad in Seville for a summer or a semester through our partnership with Spanish Studies Abroad. In Seville, this program offers courses at their main center, as well as at the Universidad de Sevilla and the Universidad de Pablo Olavide, depending on the student’s level of Spanish and course of study. Programs of study through the Seville program include Business and Economics; Health Science; Humanities; Media Studies; Natural Science; Political Science; Education; and Spanish Language and Culture. The program can arrange a variety of internships and service learning, depending on the level of Spanish of the student.

Study Abroad in Tokyo, Japan

Students from Aoyama Gakuin University visit Ferrum College every year for a week in August for a cultural exchange, and we welcome full exchange students from AGU most semesters. Full-time Ferrum College students are eligible to study in Tokyo or in Sagamihara for a semester or for their short-term summer cultural program through our exchange agreement with AGU. Ferrum students also participate in hosting the students who visit us from Japan.

Programs of study at AGU include Literature; Education, Psychology & Human Studies; Economics; Law; Business; International Politics, Economics & Communication; Cultural and Creative Studies; Science & Engineering; Social Informatics; and Global Studies & Collaboration.

Study Abroad in Seul, South Korea

 

Ferrum has an ongoing exchange program with Sejong University, and we welcome exchange students from South Korea most semesters. Full-time Ferrum College students are eligible to study for a summer, a semester, or a year in Seul through our exchange agreement with Sejong University.

Programs of study at Sejong include Gobal Business Administration; Global Public Administration and Global Hospitality and Tourism Management; and Computer Engineering. We are further developing our connections between our program in Computer Information Systems and the programs at Sejong, and we encourage students interested in this exchange to contact Dr. Taiwo Ajani for more information about this exchange: tajani@ferrum.edu.

Study Abroad in Pskov, Russia

Ferrum College has a long history of student exchange with Pskov State University in northwestern Russia. Pskov is a Sister City of Roanoke, and Roanoke Valley Sister Cities has historically helped support this exchange, which includes Russian exchange students at Ferrum and Ferrum students in Pskov, generally for one semester.

Programs of study available in Pskov include International Business Strategy; Social Responsibility of Business; Complexity Management; Economics of EU Countries; History; and Russian language.

Study Abroad in Wuhan, China

Through our established exchange agreement with China Three Gorges University, Ferrum College welcomes students from China and sends students abroad to participate in the Remarkable Three Gorges Summer School for International Students. Through this program, students can learn about Chinese language, culture, and history, and can participate in a series of cultural activities and tours of important sites such as the Three Gorges dam, the Great Wall of China, the Fobidden City, and the Summer Palace.

Study Abroad in Santiago, Chile

 

Our program at Duoc UC in Chile is focused around our Minor in Ecotourism. Ecotourism students can study and adventure for a semester in Chile, with a program of study focused on environmental studies, tourism interpretation, ethical issues, and sustainability. While you are not required to speak Spanish to participate in the Douc UC exchange, we strongly recommend that all students who choose to study in Chile finish at least four semesters of Spanish or the equivalent.

Study Abroad in Belfast, Ireland

Ferrum College participates in the Study USA program, which hosts Irish students at US institutions. As part of that exchange, Ferrum students have the opportunity to apply to become Irish American Scholars, a prestigious program that hosts our students in Ireland at Queens University Belfast, the University of Ulster, St. Mary’s University College, Stranmillis University College, or Belfast Metropolitan College. Students can focus on a variety of academic disciplines and participate in excursions throughout Ireland. Semester-long and year-long programs are available.
